Jon and his wife Monica live near Blandford Nature Center, loving their community in the First Ward of Grand Rapids. 

Jon fell in love with Grand Rapids as soon as he began what would become his degree in public administration at Grand Valley State University.  Nearly 20 years later, his focus on community starts right in the house he and Monica enjoy with loveable cat, Murray. 

Jon and Monica are deeply committed to their neighbors and community, but when they can, they find the time to escape for a bit and hike in the many terrains West Michigan has to offer. 

When staying in town, the O'Connor's can't help but frequent the various Antique shops Grand Rapids has to offer. He says there is too much history hidden in the treasurers he and Monica unearth to leave them on the shelves. Their First Ward home is decorated and furnished with many pieces that carry with them countless stories of Grand Rapids' past.

They don't ALWAYS stay in Grand Rapids. When possible, Jon and Monica make sure Murray will be cared for and hit the road. Jon and Monica's travels only enhance their love of Grand Rapids.
